7/19 - Birth Of "Christy / Carmella": Our Complete Synopsis Exposing WWE Divas Search '04

Back on July 9, 2004, WWE announced the 28 remaining finalists for the Divas Search 2004 competition. Within ten days of that list, the authenticity of this contest was questioned. Well, Wrestling-News.com questioned it. Since July 19th, we have been reporting on the website and brainwashing our hotline callers that WWE wanted "Christy / Carmella" as their two.

They soon after altered their rules to ensure this would happen. We were criticized for reporting this, especially since the other finalists thought they had a legitimate shot at winning. And the millions of fans voting, they thought they were REALLY choosing the winner of this contest.

It became quite apparant when we learned from the telecommunications company providing the 800#'s for the polling, that they were NOT calculating the votes.

Late Wednesday night, Wrestling-News.com received information from a very reliable source, that Carmella was voted off from the contest with the least number of votes, at least two times.

I'm chuckling at some websites only now, two months later and after the damage is done, they are talking about this contest. Some are saying it was fixed. Others make you vote if it was legit. All they needed to do is look at the rules as we reported long ago. Their altering of the rules made this contest 100% legit. However, WWE is in violation of making the fans believe they were choosing who advances. That is now proven as legit as Lita's fetus.

Below in chronological order, are our articles from July 2004 to the present, which shows our (as we did last year) expose the Divas Search to be a $250,000 publicity fiasco for WWE.

(Below is the segment from our articles, and their original links for anyone who wishes to cross reference)

JULY 9, 2004 - "28 DIVA HOPEFULS"
From our 7/9 article which you can read by clicking
HERE

WWE posted the final 28 participants for the contest. The 7/15 Spike TV special will NOT determine the winner. It will knock these 28 participants down to 10. Then WWE claims the fans will each week, eliminate 1 woman until one remains hence your 2004 Divas Contest Winner.

JULY 19, 2004 - "CHRISTY / CARMELLA 7:19"
From our 7/19 article which you can read by clicking
HERE

WWE released the Final 10 Participants in the 2004 Divas Search. And with the 10 announced, we received word that WWE may already have two they are extremely interested in: Christy Hemme & Carmella DeCesare.

Wrestling-News.com is looking into this, especially since remember - fans are supposed to choose the divas search winner. Early info we received is that WWE during the special intentionally eliminated Karen McDougal (Former Playboy Playmate Of The Year) so Carmella DeCesare would be the only Playmate Of The Year in the contest. As far as Christy, they like her energy, and desire to be a WWE diva. But again remember. We the fans are supposed to choose who stays and who goes. Only time will tell.

JULY 20, 2004 - "WWE CHANGES THE RULES"
From our 7/20 article which you can read by clicking
HERE:

I was checking out the "Official Rules" for the WWE Divas Search and found two things interesting. No the two things aren't Christy and Carmella, although WWE will do everything possible to have one of them win. And based on two added "rules", expect some hokey s**t to happen in the upcoming weeks.

The following are excerpts from the official rules for the Divas Search:

"WWE reserves the right in its sole and exclusive discretion to grant immunity from fan voting in any given week to finalists who compete and win such immunity.  Finalists who win immunity in any given week cannot be eliminated from the Search.  For example, if fan voting determines that finalist #1 is the first choice for elimination and finalist #2 is the next choice for elimination, finalist #2 will be eliminated to the extent finalist #1 has won immunity that week.  WWE is under no obligation to offer immunity to finalists."

(In other words, if WWE isn't happy fans voted off Christy or Carmella, they can change it).

"WWE, IN ITS SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE DISCRETION, RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE RULES, METHOD AND MANNER OF FAN VOTING AND WINNER SELECTION AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER, OR FOR NO REASON AT ALL."

(In other words, if WWE thinks fans are voting based on "spite", or voting off someone they want to keep around, they can change the rules at any time.)

Two WWE favorites, two examples how WWE will make sure they, not the fans, choose their winner.

AUGUST 2, 2004 - "WHOS COUNTING THE VOTES?"
From our 8/2 article which you can read by clicking
HERE:

Earlier today Advanced Telelcom Services, Inc. issued a press release regarding their new venture with WWE. They announced that WWE hired them to provide the 800#s, and process the phone calls for the Divas Search 2004 contest.

Interesting was what they did not mention. I contacted the company today and was advised that although they are processing the calls, they are not responsible, nor are they calculating the actual call counts for the contest. Hence, WWE can pretty much publicly announce a call count that has no legitimate documentation behind it. (Remember our comments on Christy and Carmella!)

AUGUST 16, 2004 - "WHY CHRISTY & CARMELLA"
From our 8/16 article which you can read by clicking
HERE:

I received quite a few emails regarding "Christy & Carmella". Way back when WWE still had 28 diva participants, we received word these 2 were the ones WWE intened on favoring in this contest over everyone. We are down to 7 divas and low and behold, "Christy and Carmella" are still in.

Last year we posted the 2003 Divas winner almost a month before the contest ended. It looks like it may happen again. But many of you out there are asking me which one of the two will get it? Christy or Carmella?

Me personally, I vote for Maria. However, if it ends up Christy and Carmella, it comes down to what WWE wants with their Divas Winner. If WWE plans of having their winner frequent WWE TV, Christy is the likely candidate. She is not tied to Playboy, and her schedule is much lighter. For WWE to want Carmella, it is more for her already established publicity as the 2004 Playboy Playmate of the Year. But Carmella's schedule is stacked. No Showing Divas Dodgeball is a good example that.

What sucks, is that remember....the big hype and WWE's press releases across the business world, was that "fans pick the winner". However as we posted in the past, WWE quickly added in rules which says basically they can choose who they want for any reason at all.

So there you have it. We shall see what happens with the contest. It's a shame to invest that much money and publicity on a contest, that will be as genuine as the fetus in Lita's uterus.

AUGUST 27, 2004 - "CARMELLA 1 PUNCHY DIVA!"
From our 8/27 article which you can read by clicking
HERE:

I wonder if WWE knew about this Monday night. But WWE Divas Search finalist Carmella DeCesar was involved in a bar room inclident. 1wrestling.com has posted details of the incident, which apparantly is over her boyfriend Jeff Garcia.

Please note that she has not been charged as a crime. But 1wrestling.com reports that at Cleveland's Tramp's Nightclub, the alleged victim, 32 year old Christin Hine was slapped and verbally abused by Carmella. The report also claims that she threatened Hine "I'm going to kill you!"

The police report says the woman decided to leave the premesis. However while walking out of the club, Carmella DeCesar kicked the woman in the head.

If WWE was looking for an out for Carmella, this will probably be it...thats "if" they are looking to eliminate her.

AUGUST 30, 2004 - "DIVAS CURSE UP A STORM"
From our 8/30 article which you can read by clicking
HERE:

Last year when we reported a month before it ended that Jamie Koeppe was going to win the WWE Divas Search 2003 contest, it stirred up quite a bit on animosity amongst fans as well as divas contestants. Especially since we knew a few of the contestants, we felt bad that they truly had no shot of winning, despite this being a contest that was supposed to be honest.

Fast forward one year. Many women re-entered, hoping 2004 would be different. And as the weeks went by, people started to realize what we have been saying since there were over 30 contestants remaining: WWE was going to choose their winner, despite what the fans want.

In case you didn't see Raw tonight, Maria was eliminated from the Divas Search. After she was eliminated, she proceeded to give both middle fingers to WWE on camera. From emails and messages we have received over the last month, close to 90% of the fans voting was for Maria.

Then in a segment where the final four contestants had 30 seconds to trash their opponents, Joy and April proceeded to use alot of profanity against Carmella. I think it's pretty safe to say that many (especially Maria) are realizing that the contest was never legit. Then again it is. If you see the rules, WWE can choose to pick or eliminate anyone they want even if it's not the fans' choosing.

If you follow our site especially the hotline, we've been telling you back when there was over 30 divas remaining that WWE was going to choose Christy or Carmella.

Now there's four remaining. I would not be surprised at all if WWE offers a private cash payment to Carmella to be eliminated in case she can't committ to the WWE schedule over the year's time. Hence Christy getting the win. Then again, if they want the publicity of having a Playboy Playmate Of The Year, they'll keep the c***smoker as one diva contest called her tonight.

Good job to April and Joy. They really left a negative impression on the other 2. This way if Christy and Carmella stick around to the final two, it exposes this contest even more.

I wonder if WWE realizes how much this will carry over to Tough Enough. Remember, this is just our analysis of what happened tonight. But despite what the Divas theme plays, these diva hopefuls are not "Idiots". And neither of the fans.

SEPTEMBER 7, 2004 - "AND THEN THERE WERE 3"
From our 9/7 article which you can read by clicking
HERE:

WWE.com has posted bonus footage from Monday's Raw. Three are interviews with Kane, Evolution, and Chris Jericho. One is of Amy Weber, which reveals that she was injured during the Divas Segment.

She was shown visibly in pain and crying as she walked to her car on route to a local hospital. Some talk is that she suffered an arm or shoulder injury. Unless WWE offers her some type of money settlement, I wouldn't be surprised if something was filed against WWE for having the physical challenge. It should be really interesting how the "boxing" challenge is handled next week. I will get into this more on the hotline Wednesday night. Since we've been saying 'Christy-Carmella' as WWE's two finalists since there were 30 divas, we will have some interesting info to add.

SEPTEMBER 13, 2004 - "THE FINAL TWO"
From our 9/13 article which you can read by clicking
HERE:

Last year a month before the Divas Search 2003 contest ended, we reported that WWE had already picked Jamie Koeppe as their winner. We were ripped apart for the report, until the winner was selected.

This year, when there were 30 divas remaining in the competition, we started brainwashing our readers and hotline callers with "Christy / Carmella" "Christy / Carmella" "Christy / Carmella". We had from very reliable sources back then, that WWE wanted both of them for different reasons. (You can search our newsboard history to check out all the articles and analysis).

Tonight the final two remain and it is "Christy and Carmella". For our regular readers, you would laugh how we have received probably 500-600 emails over the last month criticizing the Christy / Carmella reports. And many blatently told us they couldnt wait for 1 to be eliminated early, so they could have a reason to trash us.

To all of you, there's always 2005.

Thanks for reading.
