When I received this a few hours ago, I thought it was a joke. Was it denial? Who knows. Whatever the case, it is confirmed and it is sad.
Michael Lockwood aka Crash Holly and Mad Mikey, passed away earlier today. I've heard very sketchy reports of his passing, so please take this lightly. However, I am hearing that it may have been attributed to an overdose. He was found at 1PM this afternoon at the home of Stevie Richards in Florida. He was 32.
My condolences to Michael's family, and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below is a brief synopsis of the
titles won during Mikey's WWF/WWE career which spanned from 1999 - 2003. I know Mikey won the hardcore title dozens of times at house shows! This covers televised wins. This
breakdown is courtesy of Mike Johnson's article at 1wrestling.com. I strongly
suggest you check out his article to read a well detailed retrospect of his
career. After the title history, is commentary I wrote about how one website reported the news in a very tasteless way. (My opinion)

COMMENTARY: A Wrestler's Passing Brings The Love Out Of Many... And Disrespect From Others
I really had to struggle with the idea of writing this. Not because I give a rat's ass of the "slander" accusations this man will make towards me. But more in the way of giving this crappy newsletter exposure.
When I first received word that Mikey may have passed away, myself and others online were trying to verify this. And one thing was for sure, we were hoping to confirm that it was NOT true. Unfortunately, it was true and it has saddened many that we lost Michael Lockwood. He was only in his early 30's.
After we received the unfortunate news, we posted what we knew. I decided to check out some of my news outlets and sources, as well as other websites to find out additional information.
The Observer, 1wrestling, and a few others basically had the same info as us. And we all posted what we knew, and gave our condolences out of respect.
Then I came across Wade Keller's report:
WWE.com reports that Michael Lockwood, who wrestled as Crash Holly, early in his career Erin O'Grady, and most recently as Mad Mikey, died this afternoon.
The Wrestling Observer reports that he may have choked on his own vomit. He was found in Steven Richards's house in Florida.
Crash was released from WWE for a variety of reasons, one of which was his well-earned reputation as living on the edge. Crash had been ostracized by some members of the WWE locker room in recent years due to his partying ways that they felt was a distraction and potentially harmful to him.
He most recently appeared on NWA-TNA PPVs as Mad Mikey.
He wrote this, less than 8 hours after this man's passing. Many wrestling fans, friends, and family are just receiving the tragic news as we speak. And the head of this newsletter writes about "partying ways", "well-earned reputation as living on the edge", etc. Do you have any fuc**** class, this man just died a few hours ago. No condolences whatsoever. I hope to god, friends of Mikey aren't subsribers to your newsletter and read your news first. Can you imagine how one of them would feel if they found out of his death thru your comments? You're a classless piece of sh**.
I don't wish death on anyone. And out of respect, I wouldn't even think of bringing the faults of someone's past, especially only hours after someone dies. Wade, how would you feel? Take out Mikey's name from your article, and replace it with your mother. Your father. Your best friend. How would you feel? I am really curious to see how you react, when your closest family members pass away.
How I feel right now, God help me that I find out one of your family member's deaths in the future. Because I will find the darkest, harshest factors that could have attributed to their death, write them, and send it to their funeral home on a mass card. And when you and your mourners read in shock at my comments, you will remember the night you insulted and hurt the feelings of the people closest to Michael Lockwood. Which by the way, was the same night he died.
